Smaug the Magnificent (duplicated from TheSpikeFeeders) by user9387440

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-red Treasure/Dragon deck built around Smaug's upkeep and attack-triggered burn. The primary plan is to ramp Smaug out early, multiply Treasure creation with Xorn, Sticky Fingers, and The Reaver Cleaver, then use extra-combat effects to fire Smaug's attack trigger two or three times in one turn. Damage doublers such as Fiery Emancipation and Twinflame Tyrant make each trigger lethal. Magda, Brazen Outlaw is the closest thing to a hidden commander, acting as a five-Treasure tutor for key Dragons and artifacts. Secondary paths include big Dragon beatdown via Goldspan/Ancient Copper Dragon and artifact-enter burn from Reckless Fireweaver/Alchemist's Talent. There is no double-faced commander in the list.
