Deck overview

This deck is a focused Golgari combo-aristocrats strategy built around Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons. It uses cheap mana acceleration to deploy Hapatra on Turn 2 and rapidly establishes value engines through -1/-1 counter placement. The primary route to victory is an infinite death and counter loop using Hapatra and Blowfly Infestation alongside an aristocrat drain piece like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Obelisk Spider, or Mirkwood Bats, which eliminates all opponents on the spot. The deck generates massive card flow through Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Skullclamp, and Generous Patron, while controlling opposing boards by shrinking and clearing enemy creatures. Protection spells like Destiny Spinner, Autumn's Veil, and Tyvar's Stand shield key combo turns from disruption. When Hapatra is pressured, redundant token generators like Nest of Scarabs and undying loops provide reliable backup routes.
