Deck overview

This mono-black midrange deck helmed by Azog, Moria's Ruin blends ETB removal, amass token growth, aristocrats drains, and a dense Equipment package into a grindy attrition machine. Azog, Moria's Ruin is a cheap command-zone removal spell that amasses Goblins equal to the destroyed creature's power and draws when you point him at your own fodder. Blink and copy engines (Conjurer's Closet, Cloudstone Curio, Panharmonicon, Roaming Throne, Strionic Resonator) turn that ETB into a repeatable engine while Army tokens and living-weapon Equipment supply bodies. Primary wins come from combat with a heavily equipped Army or commander, backed by devotion drains from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Kokusho, the Evening Star plus The Meathook Massacre life-loss. The deck plays a classic black value game: ramp into Azog, protect and flicker him, grow the board, and close through combat and table-wide drains.
