Deck overview

This is a mono-black aristocrats-control deck helmed by The Master of Lake-town. The primary game plan is to bleed the table incrementally through drain outlets like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and The Meathook Massacre, while leveraging the commander and Mindcrank to convert every point of life lost into mill. The deck is built around repetition: creatures that sacrifice themselves or are sacrificed to Viscera Seer and Carrion Feeder to trigger drain and draw effects, with a heavy reanimation package - Reanimate, Animate Dead, Necromancy, Living Death, Victimize, and Rise of the Dark Realms - to keep recycling the best death triggers. The finisher suite includes Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and the big X-spell Exsanguinate. The commander naturally feeds the deck's alternate mill plan, but the engine can keep grinding without him.
