Deck overview

This Atraxa, Grand Unifier deck is an oppressive Phyrexian tribal midrange deck centered on poison counters and proliferate mechanics. The deck aims to establish early poison counters on all three opponents using cheap toxic threats like Skrelv, Defector Mite, Venerated Rotpriest, and Skrelv's Hive. Once poison is applied, the deck transitions into a controlling midrange strategy using asymmetric stax pieces such as Phyrexian Censor and Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines to slow down opposing development while proliferating poison counters with Atraxa, Praetors' Voice, Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus, and Inexorable Tide. As opponents reach corrupted thresholds, board wipes like Sunfall and White Sun's Twilight clear opposing blockers while preserving or creating toxic armies. If the game goes long, casting Atraxa, Grand Unifier from the command zone restocks hand resources with up to five or six fresh cards, ensuring the deck never runs out of gas before closing the game via ten poison counters.
