Deck overview

This deck is an Esper spellslinger control strategy that blends spell-velocity payoffs with mill and life-drain attrition, piloted by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. In the opening turns, the deck deploys low-cost mana rocks to cast Y'shtola on Turn 4. From there, casting noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater burns opponents, gains life, and triggers end-step card draw. The midgame controls the board using efficient spot exile, counterspells, and asymmetric hate pieces like Teferi, Time Raveler and Notion Thief. By Turn 7, the deck pivots toward closing the game through massive mill surges (Bruvac the Grandiloquent, kicked Maddening Cacophony, Singularity Rupture), huge combat threats like Consuming Aberration, or group drain engines like Psychosis Crawler and Fandaniel, Telophoroi Ascian, closing out games around Turn 9.
