Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Orzhov stax and group slug strategy led by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. It aims to choke opposing game plans early using low-cost hatebears such as Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, and Deafening Silence before deploying Liesa on Turn 4. Once assembled, Liesa turns every spell cast into a painful 2-life tax, creating a severe life total squeeze that punishes high-velocity decks while her 5/5 flying lifelink frame steadily pads your life total. Synergistic drain engines like Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Rug of Smothering accelerate the table's attrition. The deck converts this stax lock into a win through compounding combat damage from token engines like Adeline, Resplendent Cathar and Myrel, Shield of Argive, culminating in an unblockable, double-striking alpha strike via Akroma's Will around Turn 7. Robust protection and Liesa's unique life-paid recast tax ensure exceptional mid-to-late game resilience.
