Deck overview

This Grixis control-midrange deck helmed by Nicol Bolas, the Ravager aims to disrupt opponents' hands and boards while grinding out value through its commander's transformation into a planeswalker. The primary game plan is to establish early card advantage engines (Necropotence, Consecrated Sphinx, Ashiok, Nightmare Muse), deploy the commander for its discard ETB, then flip into Nicol Bolas, the Arisen to draw cards, reanimate threats, and eventually ult for a library exile win. Secondary win conditions include beating down with large fliers like Galactus, Devourer of Worlds (with Silver Surfer, Galactus's Herald as a tutor) or milling opponents out via Glimpse the Unthinkable and Consuming Aberration. The deck lacks fast combo lines, relying instead on incremental advantage and controlling the board with a suite of counterspells, removal, and board wipes.
