Deck overview

This Izzet Dragon deck is a midrange beatdown and combo deck that capitalizes on cost reduction and treasure generation to drop Dragons ahead of curve. Sarkhan, Soul Aflame reduces Dragon costs and can turn into a copy of any entering Dragon, effectively doubling etb and attack triggers. The primary plan is to generate treasure and cast big Dragons, using their damage and token engines to overwhelm opponents. Secondary paths include extra combat loops with Hellkite Charger or Aggravated Assault funded by treasures, and direct damage burns through Dragon Tempest, Scourge of Valkas, and Terror of the Peaks. The hidden commander is the concept of using Sarkhan as a copy of each Dragon to double myriad triggers, especially etb damage, tokens, and combat steps. The deck is built to use both faces of Sarkhan: his rear (when copying) is the main closer, but his front cost reduction is the engine.
