Deck overview

This mono-black Zombie tribal deck is commanded by Ghoulcaller Gisa, focusing on generating massive armies of Zombie tokens through strategic creature sacrifices. The deck establishes an early board with low-cost Zombies and mana rocks before casting Gisa on Turn 4 or 5. Once active, Gisa converts high-power creatures and recurring threats like Gravecrawler into swarms of 2/2 Zombie tokens. Tribal lords including Death Baron, Undead Warchief, and Lord of the Accursed grant substantial power buffs, deathtouch, and menace to overwhelm opposing blockers. Aristocrat engines led by Ayara, First of Locthwain, Vengeful Dead, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel convert creature deaths and devotion into direct life drain across the table. While the deck boasts immense snowballing board presence, high functional redundancy, and strong resilience against board wipes via recursion, its reliance on a 5-mana commander without inherent protection or haste creates vulnerable setup windows against fast combo decks and heavy spot removal.
