Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet chaos and forced-draw engine commanded by Ian Malcolm, Chaotician. The strategy revolves around providing symmetrical card draw through permanents like Dictate of Kruphix, Kami of the Crescent Moon, and Fevered Visions. Forcing every player to draw a second card each turn triggers Ian Malcolm, exiling cards from opposing libraries and creating a communal card pool that you can cast from. The deck layers this engine with unpredictable chaos elements, including coin-flip spells like Planar Chaos and Boompile, alongside targeting disruptors like Grip of Chaos. Win conditions center on scaling draw payoffs: The Locust God generates swarms of hasty flying Insects, Psychosis Crawler drains life totals with every draw, and Flaming Tyrannosaurus punishes opponents whenever spells are cast from exile. While high in variance and light on targeted interaction, the deck creates dynamic board states and closes games through wide swarms and indirect burn.
