Deck overview

This deck leverages Satoru Umezawa as an engine to turn low-cost, unblockable creatures into formidable combat threats. Early turns focus on deploying evasive creatures such as Changeling Outcast, Mist-Cloaked Herald, and Tormented Soul alongside standard ramp artifacts. Satoru enters on Turn 3, unlocking universal ninjutsu for four mana. On Turn 4 and 5, unblocked attacks allow the pilot to cheat devastating payoffs directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking, including Shredder, Shadow Master, Fallen Shinobi, and Great Whale, while Satoru's Anticipate trigger maintains card selection. Supplemental pressure comes from Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow flipping high-cost spells like Shadow of Mortality and Temporal Trespass to burn the entire table simultaneously. The deck maintains steady interaction via flexible countermagic and removal, though it must balance reactive mana against the heavy color requirements of activating ninjutsu.
