Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue spellslinger tempo strategy led by Namor the Sub-Mariner. Namor converts noncreature spells with blue mana symbols into 1/1 Merfolk creature tokens while growing its own flying power based on total Merfolk count. The deck leverages an efficient suite of cantrips and free counterspells to trigger Namor repeatedly without slowing its development. Once a wide token board is established, tribal payoffs like Lord of Atlantis, Master of the Pearl Trident, Vodalian Hexcatcher, and Coat of Arms amplify combat damage into lethal swings. Asymmetric board clear spells such as Raise the Palisade and Cyclonic Rift clear blockers to secure swift eliminations. Meanwhile, dense card draw engines like Skullclamp, Rhystic Study, and Kindred Discovery refill the hand with reactive spells to protect the board state.
