Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Grixis aristocrats control build led by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The strategy focuses on accelerating into Sauron by Turn 4 to exploit his passive token creation whenever opponents cast spells. As opponents progress their own game plans, they continuously feed Sauron's Orc Army, generating substantial board presence and sacrifice fodder. Connecting in combat with an Army triggers the Ring tempting mechanic, allowing you to discard depleted hands to draw four fresh cards each turn. The deck converts this token surplus into victory through aristocrat drain pieces like Mirkwood Bats, Mayhem Devil, and The Meathook Massacre, aided by sacrifice outlets like Warren Soultrader and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician.
