Commander: Witch-king of Angmar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-black control and aristocrats deck uses Witch-king of Angmar as a rattlesnake defensive wall and resilient attacker to punish incoming attacks and discard recursive creatures. The main plan controls the battlefield through dense single-target removal, sacrifice effects, and board wipes like Damnation and Massacre Wurm. Meanwhile, persistent drain engines like Vraan, Executioner Thane and Sephiroth steadily deplete enemy life totals. The deck primarily wins by establishing the infinite life drain combo of Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond, Marauding Blight-Priest, or Starscape Cleric, or by grinding out the table through steady combat and repeated death-trigger life drain.
