Deck overview

Mardu Celes, Rune Knight is a reanimation-and-aristocrats combo deck. The commander is single-faced; the deck is built to use Celes's looting to fill the graveyard and her +1/+1 anthem to power up creatures that return from the graveyard. Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward acts as the de facto hidden combo piece in the 99: combined with Animate Dead or Necromancy, it loops infinitely, generating endless ETB/death triggers and Soldier tokens. A compact persist package with Putrid Goblin, Murderous Redcap, Metallic Mimic, and First Day of Class backs up that line. Wins convert these loops into damage or mill through Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Mayhem Devil, Goblin Bombardment, and Altar of Dementia.
