Deck overview

This is a rapid-cantrip drain-and-combo deck helmed by Athreos, God of Passage. The primary engine is 28 copies of Shadowborn Apostle backed by Thrumming Stone - casting one Apostl triggers Ripple 4, often chaining into a dozen more on the same turn. A dense suite of sacrifice outlets (Viscera Seer, Phyrexian Altar, Ashnod's Altar) and drain creatures (Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, Ayara, First of Locthwain) converts each death into table-wide life loss. The Apostle's own ability searches for Demons like Razaketh, the Foulblooded or Vilis, Broker of Blood to tutor further or draw cards. Teysa Karlov doubles every death trigger, and Bolas's Citadel provides top-deck casting and a mass-drain outlet. The deck wins by draining the table in one burst, using the Athreos tax to either return creatures for recasting or force opponents to pay life that accelerates the drain clock.
