Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and big-mana control engine designed to grind down opponents through persistent sacrifice loops, edict attrition, and burst drain finishers. Built around a dense core of recursive creatures like Gravecrawler, versatile sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer and Ashnod's Altar, and drain payoffs like Blood Artist and Ayara, First of Locthwain, the deck efficiently converts creature deaths into life disparity and card advantage. Accelerated by mana engines such as Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, it transitions into overwhelming board states. While Avacyn, Angel of Horror provides an 8-mana late-game multiplier that returns all dying nontoken creatures at each end step, the 99 functions independently to close games using massive devotion drain from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Syr Konrad, the Grim. Proactive locks like Contamination and repeated edicts systematically dismantle opposing boards.
