Deck overview

This mono-blue combo deck is built around Eluge, the Shoreless Sea and 40 copies of Sphinx's Approach. Eluge reduces the cost of instant spells on each player's turn, allowing you to chain copies of Sphinx's Approach efficiently at instant speed to draw through the deck and load the graveyard. Once five copies of Sphinx's Approach are cast, the 5th copy exiles five from the stack and graveyard to tutor Sphinx of the Chimes directly onto the battlefield. From there, Sphinx of the Chimes discards pairs of Sphinx's Approach at zero mana cost to draw four cards per activation, deterministically drawing the entire library. The deck then converts excess cards into mana using High Tide, Frantic Search, or Turnabout, closing the game immediately with Thassa's Oracle, Laboratory Maniac, or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries. A dense suite of countermagic and cheap creature interaction protects the combo sequence.
