Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Izzet spellslinger and combat-cheat deck led by Scarlet Witch, Chaotic Avenger. The core game plan accelerates mana on Turns 1 and 2 to deploy Scarlet Witch on Turn 3. On Turn 4, she attacks through the air and deals combat damage, triggering her ability to exile cards from the top of the library and cast a massive noncreature spell for free. Topdeck manipulation tools such as Brainstorm, Scroll Rack, Sensei's Divining Top, and Mystical Tutor guarantee that Scarlet Witch hits backbreaking spells like Aminatou's Augury, Omniscience, One with the Multiverse, Portal to Phyrexia, or Fiery Emancipation. Free countermagic like Deflecting Swat and Force of Negation protects the commander during combat. Once a dominant engine resolves, the deck closes the game rapidly on Turn 5 using extra combat steps from Great Train Heist and Savage Beating, damage tripling, or mass creature theft via Insurrection.
