Deck overview

This Simic deck is a synergy-driven +1/+1 counters engine commanded by Ezuri, Claw of Progress. The game plan revolves around playing efficient low-power creatures during the opening turns to build experience counters once Ezuri enters the battlefield. As experience counters accumulate, Ezuri converts them into massive +1/+1 counter buffs at the start of every combat step. Counter multipliers such as Branching Evolution and Doubling Season rapidly accelerate this growth into overwhelming battlefield power. The deck primarily closes out games through unblockable combat damage enabled by Herald of Secret Streams and Champion of Lambholt, or by executing an infinite extra-turn loop with Sage of Hours once five experience counters are reached. While vulnerable to early board sweepers before its protection spells are online, the deck retains all accrued experience counters across commander recasts, allowing it to rebuild lethal threats quickly.
