Deck overview

Imotekh the Stormlord commands a mono-black artifact reanimation strategy focused on token generation and attrition. The deck develops early mana with artifacts and basic Swamps while filling the graveyard using self-mill cards like Out of the Tombs, Flayed One, and The War in Heaven. Once Imotekh enters the battlefield, any artifact creature leaving the graveyard triggers the creation of two 2/2 Necron Warrior tokens. The deck uses the unearth mechanic, Ghost Ark, and reanimation spells to rapidly assemble a wide board of artifact creatures. Offensive pressure mounts through combat buffs from Skorpekh Lord, Cranial Plating, and Imotekh's menace ability, supplemented by one-sided sweepers like Their Name Is Death. High-end threats such as Shard of the Void Dragon and Shard of the Nightbringer apply heavy attrition and life swings. While exposed to graveyard hate and artifact board wipes, the deck leverages high creature redundancy and Cryptothrall to sustain its mid-game engine.
