Deck overview

This Boros deck is an aggressive, combat-focused midrange deck commanded by Zidane, Tantalus Thief. The primary strategy revolves around deploying early creatures, playing lands on curve, and casting Zidane on Turn 5 to temporarily steal the strongest opposing creature for an immediate lifelink swing. As the stolen creature returns to its owner at end of turn, Zidane generates a Treasure token to support mana tempo. The deck supplements this plan with temporary theft spells like Hijack and sacrifice outlets like Fling and Angelic Purge to remove opposing threats permanently. Because the deck is built predominantly from limited-environment commons and uncommons, it lacks fast mana acceleration, nonland tutors, and burst card draw engines. As a result, it relies on top-decking and honest creature combat across multiple turns to whittle down opposing life totals. While it packs adequate targeted creature removal, it is vulnerable to sweepers and cannot proactively tax or disrupt opposing strategies.
