Deck overview

This mono-black deck, led by Tymaret, Chosen from Death, operates as a traditional midrange attrition strategy. It leans heavily on Swamp-based mana, creature removal, and repeatable graveyard disruption from the command zone. Without dense fast-mana artifacts, the deck advances along an honest curve, using premium black tutors like Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor to locate high-impact mid-game threats. Its primary proactive clock centers on Shredder, Shadow Master, whose attack trigger creates nonlegendary copies that pressure all three opponents at once and rapidly halve their life totals. A secondary layer of silver-bullet hate cards, including Deathgrip, Gloom, and Archfiend of Depravity, punishes specific opposing colors and wide creature boards. The deck survives on board sweepers and targeted removal, grinding down the table until large evasive threats or Voltron equipment close out the game.
