Deck overview

This is a Grixis amass-and-reanimation value engine helmed by Sauron, Lord of the Rings. The primary plan involves ramping into Sauron to generate a massive Orc Army, mill for value, and reanimate key creatures from the graveyard. The deck then leverages amass payoffs such as Saruman, the White Hand and Lord of the Nazgul to build an overwhelming board presence of Army tokens and Wraiths, with Scourge of the Throne providing an extra combat step to close out the game. Secondary wins come from reanimating heavy hitters like Inferno Titan or Cavern-Hoard Dragon, or stealing enemy threats via Hostage Taker and In the Darkness Bind Them. The deck operates at a midrange pace, relying on incremental value rather than explosive combos.
