Deck overview

This Teysa Karlov deck is an Orzhov Aristocrats strategy that converts creature deaths into massive life drain and card advantage. The game plan centers on assembling three core components: low-cost sacrifice fodder, free sacrifice outlets, and drain payoffs like Blood Artist and Cruel Celebrant. Once Teysa Karlov enters the battlefield, her ability doubles every death trigger, accelerating token creation from cards like Pawn of Ulamog and turning single creature sacrifices into multi-target life swings. The deck draws substantial cards through doubled triggers on Skullclamp and Grim Haruspex, ensuring continuous resource replenishment. Critical onset occurs around Turn 6 with impactful finishers such as Kokusho, the Evening Star, Massacre Wurm, or mass token sacrifices, draining the entire table to zero life by Turn 7. While exceptionally resilient against combat damage due to lifelink tokens and steady life gain, the deck remains vulnerable to replacement-effect graveyard exile and mass permanent exile.
