Deck overview

This deck is a mono-white control and midrange strategy commanded by Nils, Discipline Enforcer. It leverages political counter distribution to establish a scalable pillowfort that taxes opponents heavily for attacking you. By distributing counters to both friendly and opposing creatures, Nils turns opposing threats into expensive attackers while growing your own board. The deck layers classic white taxing effects like Ghostly Prison, Archangel of Tithes, and Drannith Magistrate to control game tempo and protect your life total. Card advantage and mana generation are sustained through pieces like Land Tax, Esper Sentinel, Trouble in Pairs, and Smothering Tithe. As counters accumulate across multiple turn cycles, the deck transitions from defensive fortification to an offensive threat, finishing opponents via overwhelming combat damage amplified by Akroma's Will, Archangel of Thune, or lifegain payoffs like Aetherflux Reservoir and Ajani, Strength of the Pride.
