Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari combat-attrition build helmed by partner commanders Virtus the Veiled and Gorm the Great. The primary strategy focuses on connecting with Virtus the Veiled or backup half-life threats like Unstoppable Slasher and Shredder, Shadow Master, using Gorm the Great's forced-block ability and evasive equipment to bypass defenses. Once an evasive engine is assembled around Turn 4, the deck deploys lethal damage multipliers such as Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Wound Reflection, Archfiend of Despair, or Warlock Class on Turn 6. When paired with Virtus's combat trigger, these doublers cause a player to lose all remaining life in a single turn. The deck supports this aggressive clock with versatile removal like Assassin's Trophy and Sudden Spoiling, alongside board-control pieces like Archfiend of Depravity. Lacking compact tutors and fast mana, the deck functions as a resilient midrange deck that eliminates opponents sequentially across multiple combat steps.
