Deck overview

This Sultai deck is an Elf tribal and graveyard combo strategy commanded by Thranduil, the Elvenking. Thranduil inherits all activated abilities of Elf creature cards in your graveyard while drawing cards whenever legendary Elves enter the battlefield. The primary game plan accelerates early mana with efficient 1- and 2-drop Elf dorks, then uses targeted graveyard tutors such as Buried Alive, Entomb, or Jarad's Orders to bin key combo pieces. By combining Devoted Druid and Greenhilt Trainee in the graveyard, an untapped Thranduil can repeatedly buff his power and untap himself with -1/-1 counters, yielding infinite power, infinite toughness, and infinite mana. The deck converts this state into an instant win via Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Exsanguinate, or trample attacks with Ezuri, Renegade Leader. If Thranduil is contested, the deck seamlessly transitions into a traditional wide Elf beatdown strategy.
