Deck overview

This Queen Marchesa deck executes a classic Mardu Aikido and forced-combat control strategy. The primary game plan revolves around deploying low-cost mana rocks and early pillowfort barriers like Ghostly Prison and Blind Obedience before casting Queen Marchesa to establish the Monarch. By discouraging incoming attacks through deathtouch blockers and defensive deterrents, the deck hoards resources while opponents exhaust their boards against each other. In the mid-to-late game, the deck seizes control using goad effects such as Taunt from the Rampart and Disrupt Decorum, or punishes massive enemy swings with backbreaking Aikido instants like Inkshield and Comeuppance. Once opposing life totals are depleted from forced infighting, the deck cleans up survivors using evasive token swarms, Torment of Hailfire, or unblockable alpha strikes.
