Deck overview

This mono-red Voltron deck is commanded by Gilgamesh, Master-at-Arms, leveraging a dense suite of 34 Equipment cards to bypass traditional mana and equip costs. By casting Gilgamesh on Turn 5, the pilot triggers an enter-the-battlefield ability that inspects the top six cards of the library, cheats all revealed Equipment onto the board, and attaches one directly to Gilgamesh for free. Each subsequent attack repeats this cascade, compounding board presence, evasion, and lethal commander damage. The deck features extreme redundancy in stat boosters like Colossus Hammer, double-strike grantors like Fireshrieker and Genji Glove, and protective equipment like Champion's Helm and Swiftfoot Boots. Board control is maintained via power-scaling wipes like Chandra's Ignition and Showstopping Surprise, alongside redirection spells such as Chef's Kiss and Untimely Malfunction. While vulnerable to commander removal and lacking fast tutors, Gilgamesh delivers explosive combat velocity that can eliminate the table across turns 6 through 8.
