Deck overview

This is a classic Golgari aristocrats/reanimator build helmed by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The game plan is to sacrifice creatures for value, accrue experience counters, and use Meren's end-step recursion to loop creatures for incremental drain. The primary win is the aristocrat drain engine - Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Vindictive Vampire, and Syr Konrad, the Grim - punctuated by repeated Gray Merchant of Asphodel recursions for large devotion-based drains. Secondary lines include Syr Konrad, the Grim plus self-mill, and a big Lotleth Giant undergrowth swing. The deck is a grindy, incremental value engine that wins through attrition rather than a fast combo, with heavy self-mill (Mulch, Grisly Salvage, Satyr Wayfinder) feeding the graveyard that Meren and reanimation spells exploit.
