Format: Commander

Commander: The Lord of Pain

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Lord of Pain anchors a Rakdos group-slug deck: no one can gain life, every spell, draw, and tap of a land costs life, and damage is multiplied or doubled back. The commander is a 5/5 menace that also fires off chunks of damage whenever any player casts their first spell, with damage doublers turning those triggers into massive swings. Secondary paths are combat beats with evasive threats and a few infinite/two-card life-loss lines, most notably Vito + Exquisite Blood and Havoc Festival + Wound Reflection. There is no true hidden commander; Vial Smasher in the 99 simply reinforces the same trigger-based plan.
