Deck overview

This Izzet storm deck uses Vivi Ornitier as a combined mana battery and burn engine. The strategy focuses on deploying Vivi alongside cost reducers and trigger multipliers, then launching a single explosive storm turn around Turn 5. As you cast low-cost cantrips and rituals, Vivi accumulates +1/+1 counters and deals direct damage to all opponents. Mid-turn, activating Vivi's {0} ability converts its power into a massive burst of colored mana, fueling further spell chains. Card draw engines like Archmage Emeritus and Niv-Mizzet, Visionary ensure your hand stays full, while Guttersnipe, Coruscation Mage, and Grapeshot amplify the life total drain. The deck protects its combo turn with free counterspells, Deflecting Swat, and static protection from Hexing Squelcher and Samut, Tyrant of Naktamun, ensuring opponents cannot disrupt the spell chain.
