Deck overview

This deck is a Boros graveyard-midrange strategy led by Excava, the Risen Past. The game plan revolves around discarding or milling high-impact artifacts, creatures, and enchantments with mana value 3 or less, then using Excava's attack trigger to reanimate them as evasive 1/1 flying Spirits. Reanimation targets provide continuous card draw, removal, and token production. As the board fills with flying creatures, cards like Quintorius, Field Historian, Windcrag Siege, and Hofri Ghostforge amplify offensive output, while Moonshaker Cavalry provides a decisive team-wide pump to close out games through combat. The deck maintains stability using robust reactive removal and board protection spells like Teferi's Protection and Selfless Spirit.
