Deck overview

River Song is a burn-control commander whose deck weaponizes land destruction: every opposing scry, surveil, or library search puts a +1/+1 counter on her and then pings that player. The primary plan is to resolve River Song early, chain single-target LD spells like Cleansing Wildfire to grow her while drawing cards, then finish with mass-search effects like From the Ashes or Field of Ruin. Niv-Mizzet, Parun acts as a hidden commander with Curiosity/Ophidian Eye as an infinite draw-ping combo, while Timestream Navigator plus River Song's bottom-draw can loop extra turns once the city's blessing is online. The deck is interactive, slightly slow, and vulnerable to enchantment-based draw hate.
