Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is built around Smaug the Impenetrable, an 8/7 flying, indestructible, hasty dragon that vomits Treasure tokens whenever it takes noncombat damage. The plan is to cast Smaug, then repeatedly ping him with Pestilence/Pyrohemia or blast him with Star of Extinction/Blasphemous Act to amass a hoard of Treasures, which fuel massive burn finishes via Chandra's Ignition multiplied by Dictate of the Twin Gods, Fiery Emancipation, and Fire Servant. Secondary wins include Revel in Riches (10+ Treasures), Hellkite Tyrant (20+ artifacts), and infinite mana from Basalt Monolith + Forsaken Monument or Reiterate + ritual buyback loops. The deck is a big-mana combo/burn deck that wants to go over the top with explosive Treasure turns.
