Deck overview

This Selesnya Midrange deck utilizes Samwise Gamgee to transform nontoken creature deployments into a steady stream of Food tokens. These artifact tokens serve as a versatile foundation for mana acceleration, card draw, life total buffering, and historic card recursion. The deck deploys low-cost creatures and mana elves in the early turns, establishing engine pieces like Peregrin Took and Idol of Oblivion by Turn 4. As the board fills with Halflings and Food tokens, cards such as Jaheira, Friend of the Forest and Night of the Sweets' Revenge turn the artifact stockpile into massive mana reserves. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around Turn 6 through overwhelming overrun effects, large X-cost spells like Farmer Cotton and Genesis Wave, or continuous pump from Motivated Pony. Solid spot removal and asymmetric sweepers provide interaction while keeping the deck's low-power engine intact.
