Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai big-mana strategy led by Zaxara, the Exemplary. The plan focuses on casting large spells with {X} in their mana costs to build a massive army of Hydra tokens while generating tremendous mana. Early turns prioritize efficient ramp spells like Farseek, Nature's Lore, and Sol Ring to cast Zaxara on turn 3. Once Zaxara is active, every subsequent {X} spell creates a scaling Hydra token while advancing your board state with card draw, removal, or counter doubling. The deck can win through an infinite mana combo using Freed from the Real or Pemmin's Aura on Zaxara to fuel a lethal Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, or Finale of Devastation. Alternatively, it overwhelms opponents in combat using massive trampling Hydras enhanced by Kalonian Hydra, Doubling Season, and Herald of Secret Streams. Strong interaction like Cyclonic Rift, Fierce Guardianship, and Mana Drain helps disrupt opponents while shielding your board.
