Deck overview

This deck is a 5-Color Spellslinger engine commanded by Codie, Vociferous Codex. The core strategy revolves around resolving Codie on Turn 3 and activating its mana-generating ability on Turn 4 to convert four mana into {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} while triggering its instant/sorcery cascade ability. The deck runs zero-mana value payoff Ancestral Vision, guaranteeing that any 1-mana instant or untap trick (such as High Stride or Magic Damper) cascades directly into a fresh hand of three cards. The deck leverages this explosive card advantage and mana velocity to control the board with sweepers like Final Judgment and Fumigate before deploying its primary win condition, Approach of the Second Sun. Once cast, the deck rapidly digs through the remaining cards to recast it for the table win. If Codie is removed, the deck easily pivots to hardcasting large value spells and permanent engines like Archmage Emeritus.
