Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Golgari Squirrel and token aristocrats strategy commanded by Hazel of the Rootbloom. The primary plan focuses on generating early tokens, deploying Hazel on Turn 4 to duplicate Squirrels on end steps, and leveraging her activated ability to tap tokens for explosive bursts of mana. By Turn 6, this surplus mana fuels large board-swarming payoffs like Deep Forest Hermit, Chatterfang, Squirrel General, and The Odd Acorn Gang, while aristocrat drain engines like Bastion of Remembrance and Zulaport Cutthroat punish opposing interaction. The deck does not utilize infinite combos or fast mana, preferring to pressure life totals through wide combat attacks and mass sacrifice spells like Plumb the Forbidden. While resilient to targeted removal due to high token redundancy, the deck is vulnerable to sweepers and lacks countermagic to contest spell-based win conditions.
