Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Rakdos burn and impulse-storm list centered on Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin. The strategy leverages a dense suite of low-cost permanents that deal exactly 1 damage to opponents whenever they draw cards, cast spells, or enter upkeeps. Each individual point of damage triggers Ob Nixilis, placing a +1/+1 counter on him and exiling the top card of the library to play until your next end step. This turns passive opponent actions into massive bursts of card advantage and commander growth. The deck transitions into a lethal turn by chaining low-cost spells, rituals, and storm burn, or by resolving Chandra's Ignition on a massive Ob Nixilis. A deep package of free and 1-mana redirection spells like Deflecting Swat and Bolt Bend protects the commander during setup and closing windows.
