Deck overview

Helga, Skittish Seer is a Bant big-creature value deck that wants to turn every large creature spell into both a draw trigger and a large burst of mana. The early turns are spent ramping with one-mana dorks, Nature's Lore, Sol Ring, and Arcane Signet; Helga comes down on turn three and then powers out mana-value-4-plus and {X} creature spells every turn, growing as she draws cards. The deck out-values opponents with Keruga, the Macrosage, Prime Speaker Zegana, Bonny Pall, Clearcutter, Tatyova, Benthic Druid, and a massive Hydroid Krasis, then wins through trample combat backed by Conclave Sledge-Captain, Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma, and Saryth, the Viper's Fang's deathtouch. Disruption from Venser, Shaper Savant, Smirking Spelljacker, Depopulate, and River's Rebuke keeps the table honest. War of the Last Alliance doubles as a legend tutor and a double-strike finisher, though the deck generally wins by attrition rather than a single compact combo.
