Deck overview

This is an Orzhov token-aristocrats deck helmed by Elder Arthur Maxson, built to flood the battlefield with creature tokens and convert every death into life loss through a dense drain suite. The commander grants all tokens training - letting them grow with +1/+1 counters as they attack alongside bigger creatures - and offers a sacrifice outlet that makes him indestructible. The primary win condition is grinding: generate tokens with engines like Thalisse, Reverent Medium, Court of Grace, and Hero of Bladehold, then bleed opponents out with Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, and Corpse Knight. Secondary paths include a wide combat swing boosted by Cathars' Crusade and Ethereal Absolution, plus mass-death drain chains triggered by wipes like Austere Command and Hour of Reckoning. The deck wins through attrition and redundancy rather than combo.
