Deck overview

Ekthi, Contaminator Priest headlines a mono-white aggro deck that transforms every Equipment spell into an immediate creature threat. By granting all Equipment living weapon and giving other Phyrexians +1/+1, Ekthi ensures that 0/0 Germ tokens survive as 1/1s with weapons attached, effectively bypassing initial equip costs. The deck scales this board presence with equipment tutors, token doublers like Anointed Procession and Mondrak, and heavy-hitting artifacts such as Colossus Hammer, Nettlecyst, and Mirran Swords. Because the strategy is strictly combat-focused, it applies significant mid-game pressure across Turns 6 through 9 rather than seeking early combo finishes. While resilient against single-target spells thanks to high Equipment redundancy and defensive phasing instants, the deck features limited reactive interaction against fast opposing combos and relies heavily on keeping Ekthi on the battlefield to maintain its free creature generation engine.
