Deck overview

This mono-black combo deck leverages Mikaeus, the Unhallowed as an engine centerpiece and win condition from the command zone. Its primary win strategy centers on assembling the two-card infinite combo with Triskelion. Because Mikaeus grants non-Human creatures +1/+1 and undying, Triskelion can repeatedly remove its own counters to ping opponents and deal lethal damage to itself, returning infinitely via undying triggers. The list features dense early-game acceleration via fast mana artifacts and dark rituals, allowing an early deployment of Mikaeus on Turn 4–5. Tutors like Netherborn Phalanx, Diabolic Intent, and Demonic Bargain provide access to Triskelion or backup persist/sacrifice engines using Tatterkite, Wingrattle Scarecrow, and Altar of Dementia. While strong in direct lethal finishes and resilient to creature-based combat, the deck has notable vulnerabilities to instant-speed graveyard hate and relies heavily on Mikaeus remaining on the battlefield.
