Deck overview

Phelddagrif is a group-hug pillow fort commander rather than an aggressive beatdown. The deck taxes or prevents attacks with Baird, Windborn Muse, Crawlspace, and Island Sanctuary, while giving opponents Hippo tokens, life, and cards through Phelddagrif's abilities. Its primary win is a loop: Intruder Alarm plus Phelddagrif (or Questing Phelddagrif from the 99) plus a green mana dork plus Suture Priest generates one Hippo per {G}, draining 1 life each time. Secondary paths are the backup copy of Questing Phelddagrif, Eternal Witness recursion, and high-volume draw such as Otherworld Atlas and Minds Aglow to reach the combo. There is no true double-faced commander; Questing Phelddagrif acts as the hidden backup commander.
