Commander: Sheoldred, the Apocalypse

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Mono-Black "Wheels and Deals" strategy helmed by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The primary game plan is to weaponize the act of drawing cards, turning Sheoldred s passive drain into a lethal clock. By utilizing "forced draw" effects like Teferi's Puzzle Box, Dark Deal, and Memory Jar, the deck forces opponents to lose massive amounts of life while simultaneously padding the pilot's life total. The deck leverages Mono-Black's premier fast mana (Dark Ritual, Cabal Coffers, K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth) to deploy heavy-hitting stax pieces like Chains of Mephistopheles or game-ending spells like Peer into the Abyss. Secondary win conditions include the Bloodchief Ascension + Mindcrank infinite mill/damage loop and Aetherflux Reservoir fueled by massive life gain or Bolas's Citadel chains. It plays as a proactive control-combo deck that punishes the most fundamental action in Magic: drawing cards.
