Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Rogue typal aggressive strategy commanded by Butch DeLoria, Tunnel Snake. The primary game plan curves out early with cheap, evasive Rogues such as Forsaken Miner, Shadow Alley Denizen, and Oona's Blackguard, establishing early board presence and chip damage. Butch DeLoria, Tunnel Snake turns this wide board into a potent combat engine, gaining power from each other Rogue while granting menace and Rogue typing to other creatures. Midgame development transitions into compounding combat payoffs using Haunted One, Drana, Liberator of Malakir, and Necropolis Regent to overwhelm blockers and strip cards from opposing hands. A strong suite of black card advantage engines like Phyrexian Arena and Dark Confidant maintains hand size, while mass reanimation spells like Back in Town and Bloodline Bidding provide resilience against sweepers. The deck wins by delivering sequential lethal combat damage over three response cycles, supported by targeted creature removal and incidental discard.
