Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger strategy built around Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The primary game plan accelerates early using 2-CMC mana rocks and cost-reduction creatures like Goblin Electromancer and Stormcatch Mentor. Once Rootha is on the battlefield, casting high-mana-value spells—or spells with alternative costs like Delve on Treasure Cruise and Temporal Trespass—triggers Rootha at the beginning of combat to create massive flying Elemental tokens with haste. The deck scales its board presence rapidly, using clone effects, extra combat phases, and high-impact payoffs like Surge to Victory and Furygale Flocking to eliminate opponents through aerial combat damage. It maintains stability through efficient countermagic and versatile bounce spells, while using Delve draw spells and looting to sustain card velocity into the late game.
